LIFEGROUPS

OUR NEXT SESSION OF LIFEGROUPS WILL LAUNCH SEPTEMBER 2018

What is a LifeGroup?  A LifeGroup is a small group of people doing life together by meeting weekly, or bi-weekly, over the course of three semesters which typically run for eight to ten weeks.

What happens at a LifeGroup?  A LifeGroup will last for approximately 90 minutes. During that time, you will have the opportunity to learn one of many available topics, and build relationships with a small group of people.

Why should I join a LifeGroup?  Sometimes, it is difficult to get to know people in a large church, and LifeGroups provide the best medium for building relationships to last a life time.

Do I need to purchase a book? Book purchases are recommended but not required to attend the LifeGroup.  Attendees will purchase their own materials.  The links below are only suggestions, as you may find more cost-effective resources on your own.

COED GROUP

MON @ 7:00 PM

WCWC 294 Old Mamaroneck Rd

White Plains, NY 10605

Facilitators: Jose & Miriam Alvelo

Class Description

Gospel Revolution: Recovering the Power of Christianity – is an 8-session discipleship experience that leads group members to understand how to let the gospel work in their hearts the way religion never has … or could. On a journey to greater understanding of the gospel, Pastor J.D. Greear ran through all the religious activities typically associated with a disciple’s life: giving, adopting, missionality, preaching, and witnessing. Though disciplined and intentional in all aspects, only when J.D. “discovered” the gospel of Jesus Christ did everything change. That’s why the objective of Gospel Revolution is to help group members abide in Jesus. They will find that when they do, passion, self-control, kindness, patience, and generosity are the natural results. Marriages will change. Participants will become more self-disciplined. They will be less selfish. Not by concentrating on these things, but as a result of being captivated by the love of Christ.

Class Description

Experience Pentecost. Look on as 130 converts shake a city. Meet Paul. Go with him as he plants the first Gentile church. Extend the kingdom’s power and see the enemy upset. Walk with Paul as he travels to Corinth, Antioch, Ephesus and beyond. For those desiring to be a part of God’s action in their churches, their communities and throughout the world, there is nothing that will help more than thoroughly understanding the book of Acts and applying what we can learn from it. Acts was designed to be God’s training manual for Christians. It worked in the early church, and it works in the postmodern world. The reader’s study of Acts in The Book of Acts will bring new intimacy with the Spirit and new joy in doing His will.

WED @ 7:00 PM

WCWC 294 Old Mamaroneck Rd

White Plains, NY 10605

Facilitator: Danny Saroza

Class Description

Are you a follower of Jesus? Don’t answer too quickly. In fact, you may want to read this book before you answer at all. Consider it a “Define the Relationship” conversation to determine exactly where you stand. You may indeed be a passionate, fully devoted follower of Jesus. Or, you may be just a fan who admires Jesus but isn’t ready to let him cramp your style. Then again, maybe you’re not into Jesus, period. In any case, don’t take the question—Are you a follower of Jesus?—lightly. Some people don’t know what they’ve said yes to and other people don’t realize what they’ve said no to, says Pastor Kyle Idleman. But Jesus is ready to clearly define the relationship he wants with his followers. Not a Fan calls you to consider the demands and rewards of being a true disciple. With frankness sprinkled with humor, Idleman invites you to live the way Jesus lived, love the way he loved, pray the way he prayed, and never give up living for the One who gave his all for you.

BECOMING A WOMEN GOD CAN USE

FRI @ 7:00 PM

WCWC 294 Old Mamaroneck Rd

White Plains, NY 10605

Facilitators: Yvonne Bronstorph

Class Description

Have you ever asked yourselves, “Can God use me?” Yes He can. As women we often wonder if God can use us. God not only can use us but He wants to use us. We do not realize how important we are and the plans God has for us. There are many women in the Bible that God use in a powerful way. They trusted God and found Him to be the faithful God He always is. Let us not underestimate the significant role we have as daughters of the King…In this study, together we will recognize that God is always in control. Knowing this we will able to handle our problems one at a time, managing the things that are possible and not fretting about circumstances we cannot change while praising God through it all…We will examine how to cultivate qualities that God can use, such as humility, compassion and obedience to His call on our lives. Set aside feelings so that we can connect with others around us who are hurting. Find out the person God created you to be; tap into the strength He has given you and the personal talents that you can use to reach and serve others.Listen to God rather than your emotions. Always seek advice from a source that lines up with the Word of God. In God’s eyes we are amazing women..We will look at the women in the Bible who knew that being spiritually useful meant taking risks but were not afraid to take a step of faith and say, “Here I am, use me”.We are standard bearers, so boldly take a stand for the Lord. The good news of the Gospel has to be spread around our communities, neighborhoods and in our own families. God wants us to live in victory and live “abundantly”. We belong to the army of God.What spiritual legacy are you leaving? Is it the conception of a woman who embodies the “joy of the Lord, on bended knee in fervent prayer? Will you be remembered as a woman who walked with the light of the Christ shining through her? These questions will answer themselves when you allow God to use you.

Faithful, Abundant, True: Three Lives Going Deeper Still – Bible Study Book. Join Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, and Priscilla Shirer in a women’s Bible study recorded live at the Orlando Deeper Still conference. Kay Arthur teaches from basically, the entire book of Hebrews! Hebrews is both an example of God’s faithfulness and a challenge to believers to be faithful in difficult times. Priscilla Shirer teaches from Ephesians 3:20-21 on God’s abundance. A fundamental basis for every believer is the absolute reality that God can do whatever He chooses to do. God’s ability empowers our faithfulness. Beth Moore teaches on the topic of discernment. In these difficult days it is absolutely essential that we learn to trust the Holy Spirit to enable us to determine what is true and what is false.
